Why your Business will die without Social Media
Social Media in your Marketing strategy is the Right choice.
The explosion of Social Media has always fascinated me. The way people communicate and conduct their everyday lives through social media is astounding.
Business need to adopt Social Media into their Marketing strategies or run the risk of being left behind, not just from competitors but from connecting and engaging with customers.
By all means Social Media won’t solve all your Marketing problems, but if a business integrates Social Media with a wider Marketing strategy I have no doubt the possibilities are endless.
Everyone else is doing it.
Communication has evolved tremendously since the introduction of mobile phones, let alone the “SMART PHONE”, the Internet,Computers and Tablets. When I was a kid we had to buy stamps so we could pay to send out a letter with the Mailman. We also had to use a phone connected to a wall plug to communicate with friends and family. In this day and age we don’t even have to talk to people to communicate.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, it’s pretty easy to see how your customers are communicating. Just look around you on any street in any town or city in the world, even in developing countries and you will see a set of thumbs clicking away at a device of some sort in the palm of their hands. The way people communicate has evolved and businesses need to evolve to communicate in a manner which is familiar to ordinary people.
Just about FREE Marketing
I’m a huge believer that Social Media has helped too even the playing field in the Marketing department between large and small businesses. One negative aspect of Social Media is that it requires consistency to be effective, which in turn takes up too much time. But if you are wise and learn the strategies of Social Media Marketing, you can use that time to your advantage.
Small businesses usually do not have big budgets, so why not maximise your time in a way that will help you to gain a competitive advantage. Spend your time communicating and engaging with your audience. This is something that big businesses with millions of customers really struggle to do. I know that time = money, but Social Media is way more cost effective and will help a smaller business compete with the deep pockets of a larger Business.
Multiply the reach of your Business
Place an commercial Ad on TV or Radio and only the people who directly receive these Marketing messages are the initial recipients. Word of mouth is required to increase reach on more traditional Marketing platforms. It is less likely that some one will go about their day and talk about your Ad to everyone they see.
But with Social Media the exact message delivered can be shared with people from all over the world with just a simple click. Now that is something that just aint possible using the traditional Marketing methods.
Your Competition
I’m a late adopter when it comes to technology and I usually don’t do things to keep up with the crowd. But in business you cannot sit back and watch your competitors steal a lead from your company. If you sit back and wait for your Marketing message to reach your customer in a mail drop or a magazine or even a newspaper, it will reach your customers much slower than a snail race . Do this and you could already have lost sales to competitors using Social Media to engage with customers or leads in real time.
Social Media in this day and age is where people go to socialise and see what’s happening in the world. Enter this world and do it quick or risk getting left behind by your competitors.
Old School Consumers
Does your mom,Aunt,or Uncle have a PC or smartphone? Do they use some sort of social Media platform like Facebook to talk to old friends and family members abroad? – Of Course they do!
Even the 50+ age group market are starting to adopt Social Media and are the fastest growing segment on Facebook. The evolution of communication isn’t just limited to the younger generations. Older generations will begin to die and a new generation of tech savvy consumers will start to arise, don’t let your business die with the Older Generation.
